Course Overview
The ATHE Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is a 60-credit qualification and is the equivalent level to an A Level or Access to HE qualification.
Who the Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3 qualification is for?
The Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3 qualification has been designed for learners who wish to progress to a health and social care degree but may not have the traditional entry qualifications usually required.
Not all careers need a degree, and the Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care is also an excellent way to maximise your job prospects, such as:

Entry requirement for Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3
The Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3 qualification is designed for students aged 16 and above.
For students who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include one of following:
- Age: 16 +
- 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above
- other related level 2 subjects
- other equivalent international qualifications
- Applicants must also have an appropriate standard of English to enable them to access relevant resources and complete the unit assignments
List of documents required for registration:
- Completed application form
- Authenticated scans of your qualifications, certificates and complete transcripts for all years of studies
- A copy of your passport
- A copy of your CV/résumé
- A scanned copy of a recent passport sized color photograph
- Proof of English proficiency
- Proof of address
- Two references
Assessment
There is no external assessment (i.e. exams) attached to any unit. You will be required to submit a final written assignment for each Diploma in Health and Social Care - Level 3 module.

Syllabus

The Health and Social Care Sector
To develop an understanding of the structure of the health and social care sector, how legislation and codes of practice impact on provision and the importance of multi-disciplinary working.
Academic and Research Skills for Health and Social Care
To develop academic and research skills and the language skills needed to be able to formally present academic research, both in writing and orally.
A Person-Centred Approach to Health and Social Care
To develop an understanding of the importance of a person-centred approach in the health and social care sector and how it is applied in practice in different health and social care settings.
Communication Skills for Health and Social Care
To develop knowledge and understanding of communication in health and social care organisations and to develop personal communication skills.
