Our Essential Bookkeeping course will provide you with a thorough grounding in the basic principles of booking and enable you to develop effective skills. This qualification covers the key areas of keeping business accounts. Our structured course will help you develop the right type of skills necessary to enter the field of bookkeeping. You will develop the ability to manage the accounts of a business, by means of globally recognised methods.

 

Who is this qualification suitable for?

This Bookkeeping course will equip you with the essential finance skills that are highly valued by employers in the accountancy and finance industries. Not only will this qualification demonstrate that you have the practical skills, but also it will effectively forward you into a successful career. Upon completion of the course, students will gain the opportunity to seek employment within accounting roles or continue with higher-level accountancy studies. Suitable for those already in employment, those pursuing a career change, or those returning to work, this qualification formally recognises bookkeeping skills. Although there are no prerequisites to study this course, students are expected to have a good standard of English and essential numerical skills.

 

What does the qualification cover?

The Bookkeeping has been designed to provide students with the essential skills for exceptionally diverse accounting roles. Learners will be equipped with a wide range of bookkeeping and data processing skills developed through completing tasks in two mandatory units (105 guided learning hours).

 

The course consists of two mandatory modules with two end-of-unit assessments:

  • Bookkeeping Transactions
  • Bookkeeping Controls

After completing the course in Bookkeeping, students will gain a foundation of accountancy skills. They will develop the ability to balance accounts, complete VAT returns, process sales invoices, receipts and payments, check company bank statements, interpret complex financial transactions, deal with financial paperwork.

 

What is the purpose of this qualification?

The course will allow students to enhance all the necessary skills and gain confidence to start or advance their career in bookkeeping and accounts. They will be able to maintain accurate financial records, following set procedures and regulations. Upon successful completion, this course can deliver quality career opportunities such as:

  • an accounts clerk
  • an accounts administrator
  • a clerical assistant
  • a trainee bookkeeper
  • a finance assistant
